Monday FAQ
Welcome to this week's edition of Monday FAQ where I publicly answer most of the questions I get during the week here in this post. Let me know if you have an unanswered questions I might be able to feature here!
Should I read your blog and your facebook page? Are they any different?
Yes, they are different. The blog tends to focus on things in more depth while I use my facebook page to just quickly reference quick ideas or great articles written by others. You are welcome to follow one and not the other, but the information you get won't be as comprehensive that way. Below are a few more details about exactly what you will find where:
The Blog:
Monday - A roundup of questions asked in the last week. Occasionally round up of great food storage recipes from all over the web.
Tuesday - A recipe I've made from food storage products (focusing heavily on Thrive food)
Wednesday - Build a 72 hr kit one week at a time series
Thursday - Random (Shelf Reliance Specials, a post about a charity, a post about becoming a Shelf Reliance consultant etc. a random post that doesn't fit into the other categories)
Friday - Product highlight (food storage products or emergency supplies. Detailed info about what it does and how to use it.
I also keep a whole list of post ideas that don't fit into the above categories. Some of these come from suggestions / tips by my readers. I post from this list every 3-4 Thursdays and occasionally on Saturdays.
Facebook:2-5 quick posts per day
- Links to great articles I've read on other websites that have to do with self reliance, prosperity or charity. Articles like this.
- Quick things that might make you laugh. Things like this.
- During November: 1 reason every day that I am grateful to be self reliant (or at least trying to be). Thoughts like this.
- Thoughts about being a Shelf Reliance consultant. Thoughts like this.
- Quick tips about using food storage. Tips like this.
- Things that might motivate you to change it up a bit. Pictures like this.
I'm interested in selling Shelf Reliance products, but I'm a bit skeptical of a lot of things like this. However, I see potential here. What can you tell me about it?
While I don't know the specifics of your situation, it sounds like you might be in a situation similar to mine a year ago. I wanted to do something to bring in extra income, but both my husband and I were skeptical of the direct selling industry. When we heard about this opportunity with Shelf Reliance, we were intrigued for a number of reasons, but still cautious. It took us months to decide to sign up. We have been nothing but thrilled with our decision.Briefly, here are some of the things that stood out to us about Shelf Reliance, things that in our opinion made them different from other companies in the industry. These are the main reasons we decided to give it a shot.
- Company leadership: I have been able to meet many of the company's corporate leaders including one of the founders. They are people of integrity and sincerity. They have a real desire the help others become (as their mission statement says) self reliant, prosperous and charitable. I'm doing well with this business, but am not yet one of the very top consultants. Yet, one of the founders I just spent 2 hrs last Wednesday night with my husband and I b/c he wanted to know any and all suggestions we had of things he and the company could do to better support our business. He even took notes!
- Generous Compensation Plan: Average party sales are just over $900: FAR above industry average. In addition, you are considered the "host" for any order that does not come through a real host's party. This means you often earn not only commission, but free and 1/2 off product from your sales. We have built up a huge "home store" this way. In addition, if you ever have a consultant in your downline who stops selling (even for one month), everyone under that person moves up one level. This is incredibly rare in the multilevel marketing industry. You can also earn commission on your own purchases! (outside your Q)
- Residual Income: The Q. Once you have an established base of Q customers who purchase from you every month, the stress to have regular parties / find new customers each and every week goes away. You can go weeks or even months without having any sort of party or "event" and still have income.
- Selling a need: Food and the ability to be self reliant are things everyone needs. I feel comfortable selling them in most any economy and people will buy them in most any economy. In addition, the product is consumable so customers who purchase once will eventually purchase again.
- No minimum sales requirements to earn on your own sales. You earn commission on your sales even if you only sell $1.
- No need to carry inventory or purchase product before you can sell it. Every sale is shipped directly from the Shelf Reliance warehouse to your customer's doorstep.
- Potential for growth. The company is well established. They've been successful in the retail industry since 2005. They aren't going under anytime soon. Yet, the home party program is very new. There are currently about 4000 consultants. By comparison, many other new direct selling companies aren't stable, and established direct selling companies have hundreds of thousands or even millions of consultants. I know it is cliche, but this truly is a remarkable ground floor opportunity!
- Freedom to sell how you want. Shelf Reliance fully supports creativity and ingenuity in YOUR business. You can sell through home parties or large seminars, or expos / home shows, or completely online. They have very few limits.
I am an independent consultant for Shelf Reliance; a company with a mission to empower others to become self reliant, prosperous and charitable. You can learn more about Shelf Reliance, becoming a Shelf Reliance consultant ,buying their products, or earning free products, on my Shelf Reliance Consultant website.
